Hi, I’m Alison Gillies, the creative force and arranger behind all the music on quartetpad.com! By day, I’m a cellist for the Welsh National Opera, but in my spare time I can often be found behind the screen of my laptop. I’m passionate about arranging pop tunes for strings! If you’re interested in how I got to this point, here’s my bio:
Alison Gillies’s career has taken her around the globe, performing with symphony orchestras, in West End shows, and alongside dance companies. She has also shared stages with pop and crossover artists like Katherine Jenkins, Hayley Westenra, Hauser, McFly, Roni Size, and Kanye West. Alison has recorded numerous soundtracks for films and TV shows, such as Black Mirror and David Attenborough’s ‘Attenborough and the Giant Dinosaur’. She has also composed and performed her own original music for BBC radio dramas.
Alison Gillies began creating her pop string arrangements in 2002 and has not stopped since! Her arrangements, recognised globally, are now a staple for ensembles worldwide, and she is proud to be an Exclusive Arranger for Hal Leonard’s ArrangeMe Service.
If there’s a specific song you’re looking for and can’t find in the catalogue, please reach out – I’d love to help!
